security

"protection  so that god can move"

We believe that church services are a place where people can feel free and safe to experience the presence of God. In order for everyone to feel protected and able to focus with an open heart on worship and the Word of God, a security ministry is in place. This team cares not only for practical safety, but also for the overall church atmosphere—one of peace, order, and mutual respect.

The security ministry is more than physical protection—it is a support ministry with a heart. Team members serve as both spiritual and practical guardians who attentively observe the church environment, assist people, and are ready to support various situations. Their goal is to create conditions in which every visitor can focus on God without distraction and feel confident bringing their families and children.

The responsibilities of this ministry include:

  • maintaining order during services and events;
  • warmly welcoming and assisting visitors;
  • caring for the safety of children and families;
  • being prepared to respond quickly in unexpected situations;
  • working together with other ministry teams to ensure a calm and orderly church environment.

Security team members are not visible in the foreground, yet their presence allows the entire congregation to feel safe and protected. It is a practical way of demonstrating love for the church and its people. This ministry requires discipline, vigilance, and spiritual maturity. Those who serve understand that their role is not only to maintain order, but also to be people of prayer who stand watch over the church.

They carry this responsibility with humility and a spirit of excellence, giving their time so that others may receive from God in safety and without disturbance. The security ministry is an essential part of the church—it helps create an environment in which the Holy Spirit can move freely and people can experience revival, healing, and transformation. We believe this ministry is a blessing not only to the church, but to everyone who comes among us.

media

"CARRYING THE WORD OF GOD WITH EVERY FRAME"

We believe that the Gospel is meant for all people—both those who come to church in person and those who are unable to be physically present. For this reason, the media ministry holds an important place in our church. Its primary purpose is to use modern technology to carry the Word of God and His presence to a wider audience.

The media team provides camera setup, filming, and live streaming on Facebook and YouTube platforms. This allows hundreds of people to experience the service regardless of their location. In addition, the team also takes care of photography—capturing moments from services and special events. These images are later shared on social media to inspire and reach people beyond the four walls of the church.

However, the media ministry is not only a technical function. It is a spiritual ministry that brings the Gospel into the digital space. Every photographer, camera operator, or livestream coordinator, through their work, becomes a carrier of the Good News, helping people come to know Jesus. With every frame and every video, God’s love is revealed, and for many viewers it becomes the first step on their journey of faith.

This ministry requires responsibility, precision, and a willingness to continually learn. The media team regularly develops its technical skills—from operating cameras and sound equipment to video editing and creating content for social media. Yet the most important element is the servant’s heart—a passion to see the Gospel reach more and more people.

We see the media ministry as a bridge between the church and the outside world. It provides an opportunity for those who have never been to church to hear the Word of God and sense the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. It encourages believers and strengthens the church. Every task done behind the camera or at a computer screen is part of a greater mission—to carry the light and hope of Jesus.

The media ministry is more than technology—it is an evangelistic tool for our time. Through it, we desire to reach lives that might otherwise remain untouched and to share the Good News within this nation and beyond its borders.

USHERING

"SERVING PEOPLE WITH SMILE AND A HEART"

The ushering ministry is an integral part of church services and events. The heart of this ministry is hospitality, order, and genuine care for every visitor. Ushers are the ones who welcome people at the doors with a smile, help them find seating in the sanctuary, and create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed and loved.

Their responsibilities include maintaining order during the service—assisting with practical needs and distributed materials, coordinating seating, monitoring safety, supporting other ministry teams, and offering help to elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and first-time visitors. Ushers also serve during special moments of the service, such as collecting offerings or assisting those who respond to the altar call and desire prayer.

The ushering ministry is not only about practical assistance—it also carries spiritual responsibility. Through their presence and attitude, each usher reflects the love of Christ. Very often, they are the first impression of the church for those attending for the first time. With a smile, kindness, and a readiness to help, ushers help create an environment where people can freely experience the presence of God.

This ministry requires discipline, attentiveness, and a servant’s heart. Ushers function as a bridge between the practical and the spiritual—ensuring that everything runs smoothly while also offering encouragement and support to people.

This ministry is more than maintaining order—it is an expression of love and hospitality that helps people draw closer to God and feel truly at home.

WELCOME TEAM

"a SMILE AT THE DOOR - LOVE IN THE HEART"

These volunteers are the first to greet people with a smile and genuine hospitality, creating a warm and family-like atmosphere. Their role is to welcome visitors, assist with initial questions, and guide them to the main hall or other church facilities.

The welcome team gives special attention to first-time visitors, helping them feel accepted and at home from the very beginning. This ministry is not only about practical assistance, but also about reflecting the love of Christ and igniting joy in people’s hearts from their very first steps into the church.

It is a simple yet powerful way to create a positive first impression of the church and to prepare hearts for what God desires to do during the service.

AUDIO

"sOUND THAT LEADS PEOPLE TO GOD"

The audio ministry, also known as the sound mixing desk ministry, is one of those areas of service that often goes unnoticed, yet it is critically important for services to run smoothly and for everyone to experience God’s presence without technical distractions. Sound plays a vital role both during worship and the preaching of the Word; therefore, sound operators serve as a bridge between technology and the spiritual atmosphere.

They are responsible for microphones, instruments, and overall sound quality in the auditorium and during live broadcasts. They ensure that worship music sounds balanced and harmonious, and that every word spoken from the pulpit is clear and understandable. This ministry is highly practical, yet also deeply spiritual, because through it people are prepared to worship freely and receive the Word of God without hindrance.

Technical skills, attentiveness, and the ability to respond quickly in various situations are essential for this role. Most importantly, however, sound operators serve with a heart for ministry and a desire to be a blessing to the church. Working behind the scenes, they help create an environment where the Holy Spirit can move freely and people can experience personal revival.

This ministry is an excellent opportunity to combine technology with spiritual service, offering one’s skills for God’s purposes. It is a support ministry that helps the pastor and the congregation to hear clearly, receive, and experience God.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

"TEACHING KIDS TO LOVE GOD FROM AN EARLY AGE"

Sunday School is a place where children can experience God’s love and get to know Him through creative and joy-filled activities. We believe that children are not only the church of the future—they are an important part of the church today. The goal of the Sunday School ministry is to help them build a strong relationship with Jesus, learn biblical truths, and practically understand how to live out their faith in everyday life.

The lessons are tailored to different age groups so that children can learn and grow in a way that is engaging and easy for them to understand. Sunday School uses Bible story illustrations, songs, creative activities, prayers, and games that help children not only hear about God’s Word but also experience it. A special emphasis is placed on the practical application of faith—teaching children to be courageous, loving, and obedient to God in daily situations.

Sunday School teachers are people with a genuine heart for children, who lovingly and patiently guide them on this journey of faith. They do not only teach, but also lead by example, inspiring children to follow Christ through their own lives.

Our desire is for children to grow up in security, love, and strong faith, becoming a new generation that knows God and joyfully serves Him. Sunday School is a place where children can feel at home, build friendships with their peers, and discover their calling in Christ.

STREET EVANGELISM

A SIMPLE  MESSAGE, AN ETERNAL IMPACT"

The heart of River Rīga Church is to bring the Good News to every person, and one of the ways we do this is through street evangelism. This ministry is based on a proven and simple method—the Soul Winning Script—which was developed to help every Christian confidently and clearly share the gospel. It is a practical and inspiring approach that enables believers to speak to people about the love of Jesus Christ without fear.

The Soul Winning Script is a short, clear, and highly effective conversational guide. It helps step by step—how to approach people, how to start a conversation, how to ask questions about faith, and how to simply explain that God loves them and has prepared salvation through Jesus Christ. This method is especially helpful for those who feel unsure or do not know how to begin a conversation about faith. It provides confidence and assurance that the message will be shared clearly and with love.

The street evangelism ministry takes place in various locations—parks, streets, shopping centers, markets, pedestrian tunnels, public transport stops, as well as during special events. The goal is to reach people where they are in their everyday lives. For many, this is the first time they hear that God loves them and that He has prepared a wonderful life and eternity with Him.

Those who serve in this ministry are trained in how to effectively use the Soul Winning Script, how to listen to people, how to pray with them, and how to leave them with the message of the gospel for further encouragement. This ministry is not about persuading people, but about presenting God’s message with love and humility and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts.

The results are often remarkable—many people accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior right on the streets. Others receive encouragement, hope, or simply experience that someone cares about them and is willing to listen. Every such moment is a step closer to the expansion of the Kingdom of God.

Street evangelism with the Soul Winning Script is a ministry that ignites hearts, strengthens faith, and encourages every believer to be a witness. It helps fulfill Jesus’ Great Commission—to go and make disciples of all nations. At River Rīga Church, we believe that every believer is called to be a soul winner, and this ministry is an excellent opportunity to learn how to do it simply, practically, and with joy.

WORSHIP

"LIVING TO PRAISE HIM"

Worship in the church is more than just music—it is a lifestyle in which we lift our hands, hearts, and voices to honor God. The primary purpose of the worship ministry is to lead the congregation into a deeper experience of God’s presence, creating an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can freely move, heal, strengthen, encourage, and restore lives.

The team consists of worship singers, instrumentalists, and worship leaders who desire to honor God with their talents and wholehearted devotion, while helping the congregation freely express their love for Him. Every worshiper is called not merely to sing or play, but to serve the Lord with their whole being and to encourage others to do the same.

The worship ministry is not limited to Sunday services—it is also an integral part of prayer meetings, revival conferences, women’s and men’s conferences, youth nights, and other church events. It is a place where God is exalted and hearts are prepared to receive the Word of God.

We believe that through genuine worship, a heavenly atmosphere is released—one that brings freedom, joy, and peace. For this reason, this ministry is essential in the life of every believer, because where there is worship, there is also the presence of God.
